In situations where players cannot attend CBA on a full time basis, short-term programs are also available. Short-term programs follow the same training outline and philosophies as the full-time program except that the program is customized to accommodate the length of stay. The programs, beginning each Sunday and concluding Saturday mornings, are available every week of the year.
Whatever the length of your stay, the focus will be on your individual development. During multiple week stays, students benefit from our progressive full-time Academy training. CBA´s goal is to build highly skilled, conditioned and well-rounded players utilizing a technical, tactical, physical and mental training model approach. In our short-term programs, the goals remain the same, offering each individual an opportunity to learn to train in an advanced, efficient and highly effective way.
In an effort to produce maximum results, the short-term Basketball Program is structured around a mini-periodized week that takes into consideration the length of each player´s stay at CBA. The morning sessions focus on skill development by position, emphasizing skills and movements unique to certain positions on the floor within the framework of the team (guard play, post play, etc.). The afternoon session is broken down into performance training by position and individual needs, as well as focusing on specific on-court skills common to all positions (ball handling, shooting, etc.).
The loading and structure of each day varies to maximize the student’s improvement in all aspects of their training - technical, tactical, physical and mental. The volume and intensity of each day varies allowing for proper regeneration, both physically and mentally.
Short-term programs are designed for total player development from both an individual and a team perspective. Short-term stays at CBA are unique because of the detailed and advanced approach to training that they offer. Our goal is to build basketball players. Before prescribing and beginning any program, players are evaluated to determine strengths, weaknesses and a basis for setting goals. A program is then created within the training framework to ensure that each player has the opportunity to achieve these goals and understand what it will take to do so.
Note: Students participating in the short-term program will compete in scrimmages but not in scheduled CBA games.
